Photographer's Note

Epidaurus is a small settlement on the Peloponnese peninsula. In Epidaurus from the 6th century BC until the 4th century AD there was the most famous temple of Asklepios and the most celebrated healing center in the ancient world. In Greek mythology Asklepios was the god of medical art (medicine).

The most famous, however, is the amphitheater built around 300 BC, which had 52 rows of seats and could accommodate 14,000 spectators and where every four years there were theater and sports competitions.
