Photographer's Note

The Gorge of Vouraikos in Kalavryta. The river Vouraikos is about 40 km long and creates a deep gorge.
According to the mythology Hercules was in love with Voura who lived in the sea, he opened then this passage to reach the sea and meet her.

The length of the gorge is about 22km, a trip by the narrow gauge train takes 1 hour. The landscape is unique, steep slopes, waterfalls, tunnels, stone bridges, bare rocks and wild nature, the route is scenic and breathtaking. The width of the gorge varies at different places, in some places it is so narrow that it seems you can touch these rocks behind the window.
Unfortunately, rail cars are not open and you can take photos only through the window.
In WS more photos of the landscape in the Gorge of Vouraikos.
