Photographer's Note

Free as a bird, it's the next best thing to be. Free as a bird.
Home, home and dry, like a homing bird I'll fly as a bird on wings.
Whatever happened to, the life that we once knew? Can we really live without each other?
Where did we lose the touch that seemed to mean so much? It always made me feel so...
Free as a bird, like the next best thing to be. Free as a bird.
Home, home and dry, like a homing bird I'll fly as a bird on wings.
Whatever happened to, the life that we once knew? Always made me feel so free.
Free as a bird. It's the next best thing to be. Free as a bird, Free as a bird, Free as a bird.

Between the years of 1977 and 1980, John Lennon composed many songs at his piano in his Dakota apartment, in New York City. One of his songs, Free As A Bird, was recorded by Lennon on a cassette tape machine, but was never finished. With the release of The Beatles Anthology albums in the works, the remaining Beatles wanted to release several new songs, but wanted to include John Lennon. In 1994, Yoko Ono, John's widow, entrusted three of John's recordings to Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. These three were Grow Old With Me, Real Love and Free As A Bird.
