Photographer's Note
A group of old men, under the winter sun, at Kozani's central square.
The interesting part is that they had chosen the oldest and most deserted building to sit under!
* It was noon and the light in the picture is “hard” but I just like the way these old men stare!!!

Well seen and and well captured the instant in which everyone is looking in the same direction. Maybe this was the only interesting moment for these retired people in the whole day.

Hi Dimitri,
I love the old men, and their expressions. What exactly are they staring at though?
The building as well is very interesting, you've captured a great moment.

Hello Dimitris. Fun title for this nice daily-life photo of the guys all looking to the same direction. Also an interesting view of them sitting in front of the wall with the variety of notes and announcements. A good compositional twist that the one at the right is standing. A likeable scene, well seen.

Ah, Dimitri, this is a proud picture, the beginning of Civilisation, the wisdom of Humanity. I am not surprised they chose the quietest building to sit under, they don't need the neon and the electric noise to feel "aware", every thing they own is in their noble old minds. Yesterday, I took a picture of an old arab in full formal attire (baboushes and djelahba), in Paris, he was alone, sitting on a bench, staring at the street traffic. I felt sorry for him, specially when I see your picture, certainly a nice way to "be old" in a strange cruel world.

Old men sitting together is always interesting to see and this is no less what makes this picture special is that certain unseen soemthing that has caught their attention... not his wife with the milkman I guess :) whatever it is keeping it out of the frame preseves its mystery and keeps the visitors imagination going .... very interesting picture :)
