Photographer's Note

The Old School: Built in 1872 beside the main church of St. Stephen. It is the most well-built 19th century school in Halkidiki. The construction follows the technique that was common on Mount Athos at the time. Today the building (restored) houses the Town Hall.

Arnea is a town of 2,500 people in Northern Halkidiki, built at the foot of Mount Holomontas. It is 70 km from Thessaloniki and 38 km from Poligiros. It is the capital of the district of Arnea. Ruins of an ancient civilization have been found 3 km of the township of Arnea and many believe it is the site of ancient Arne, mentioned by Thoukididis. Its acropolis and parts of walls have been discovered on the hill of Profitis Ilias. Arnea is privileged because of its important traditional background. For this reason it has been proclaimed as an "Historical Site" and "Traditional Settlement" by the Cultural Ministry.

Καλησπέρα Βασίλη,
Πολυγραφικη η εκκλησία της Αρναίας με πολυ ηλίο και ωραία χρώματα. Πολύ καλή λήψη. Ο ουρανός με το βαθύ μπλέ δίνει αντιθέσεις με τα χρώματα της εκκλησίας και του δρόμου.
Να έχεις ένα καλό Σαββατοκύριακο.

perfect in sharpness and colors, at chalkidiki we had in 1997 our first vacations at greece, we had been in Gerakini or Skala Gerakini, as it is called in google maps..

A perfect light and contrast applied here, simple but yet a fine shot.
The triangle doorway-entrance has cought my eyes - worth a close-up as well, to my oppinion.

The curve of the road makes spectacular the composition. I like this centring, and this good description of this place. The strong light is managed well. Details are particularly clear. One beautiful and interesting photo. Bravo.
