Photographer's Note

Mountain Verno or Vitsi is somehow the continuation of Varnountas and then the natural boundary of the prefectures of Florina and Kastoria. South leads to two branches, one continues to separate the two counties to the neck of Kleisoura, while the second is directed southeast, low-edge Radosi-like, forming the crossing of the key, and end point where the southwestern ends Vora. The highest peak is the mountain, with a height of 2128 meters. In Berne, therefore, in densely wooded with beech forests in the northern slopes of Polypotamos in Drosopigi in Ydroysa in Flabouro seen when the source Erigona gurgling river. The southern Verno fed lakes Amyndeo, while the western slopes of the basin are the lake of Kastoria. From the foot of the mountain until the thousand meters formations dominated by oak, and from that point until the upper forest edge, with its alpine meadows, dominated by beech with very dense and impenetrable forests. The region, especially above the threshold oak - beech is characterized by the presence of more than forty major plant groups and rich fauna in the main animals Bear and Wolf, all species present in the mountains of Florina.
