Photographer's Note

Just back from a wonderful week in north east Corfu. The view from our little villa overlooking Agios Stefanos was stunning, so I thought I would upload a 180° panorama of the view.

This panorama was composed from ten separate images shot from the balcony of our villa. Agios Stefanos is the tiny village seen in the bay in the mid-distance with some small boats in the bay. The Ionian Sea is beyond and the hills of Albania lie in the distance.

You should be able to see a larger version if you just click on the picture itself.

The images were all taken hand-held, the camera set to manual exposure, at ISO 100, f/11 at 1/160 sec so that there would be no difference in exposure between the separate images. I resisted the temptation to use a polariser for this because it causes variation in lighting and saturation depending upon the angle of view and makes merging of the images virtually impossible - I know, I've tried it before!

Shot in JPEG, the ten separate images were merged in Photomerge in PSE6 then edited, also in PSE6.

All comments/critiques/advice welcome!

P.S. Incidentally, I've added, as a workshop, a picture of the villa showing the balcony from which this panorama was taken.
