Petanoi sunset, a photo from Kefalinia, Ionian Islands

Photographer's Note

Petanoi beach is located at the western end of the island, in Paliki Peninsula and it is known since the Homeric Era. Talking about Homer, although most of the scients identify homeric Ithaca with modern-day Ithaca island, there are some archaeologists who believe that homeric Ithaca is modern-day Kefalonia. Some of them believe that Ulisses' kingdom was located somewhere in Paliki Peninsula, while others believe that it was located, somewhere between Poros and Skala, on the southeast side of Kefalonia.

That's such a magnificent picture!
The place is wonderful, however, you chose such an excellent moment to take this photograph and, of course, did such a superb photo job regarding chosen pov, composition, exposure, horizontal format, level of sharpness, pp and contrasts!
I'd like to point out that colors are the highlight here... they're all breathtaking in every single corner of this picture!

Η μακράς διάρκειας εκφώτιση την ώρα που η γη της Ελλάδας έστρεφε το πρόσωπό της προς την νύχτα, έδωσε χρώματα μοναδικά.
Ένα πολύ ωραίο κάδρο σε ρομαντικό ρυθμό!

Το Σαββατοκύριακο θα είμαι στην Κεφαλλονιά λόγω κάποιας (ευχάριστης) υποχρέωσης.
Δεν πιστεύω να μου δοθεί η ευκαιρία για φωτογράφηση τοπίου, αν και θα το ήθελα.

hi hercules, flawless effort here. someone told me that when shooting sunsets, one must make sure that even without the sunset and its orange tones, the photograph should still look great. and this is a great example, i mean, without the sunset this would still be a great vantage point. now, you put the cherry on top with the orange yoke, and of course, not to mention the see through sea and coral reefs. thanks for sharing.
