Photographer's Note

Hi all,

Here another shot of Melissani Lake, on Kefalonia.

Break The Rules ? Why ? Well I didn't like that big overexposed sky section in this image, which appeared at most shots I took there, unfortunatly. But I break the 'rule' to still upload it. Because I like the rest, especially the light entering this cave, changing the water's colour to turquoise. Beautiful when you see it for real!
I also like the people in the boat closeby, I think they have nice light on them, and the plant on the left side.

Maybe the overexposed area bothers, but I think sometimes you got to take it as it comes.

Maybe you could give some advice on how I could prevent this from happening in a dark cave such as this. But in this case with strong light from the sun entering from the roof @ 2 PM.

HDR and/or DRI would have done a great thing here..I think ?? isn't it? I'm not familiair with those techniques though.

Photo Info (no exif due to 'save for web'in PS):
21mm, F5.6, 1/80, +0.7 EV, ISO 200, Pattern metering.

Should I have used other settings? I didn't not really know what to do in this situation, but due to the direct light I'd put +0.7EV.

Info about the location can be found here
The POV for this shot, is actually from ~about~ the yellow boat in the distance in the shot @ that link.

[PP in CS2] jpeg :
Started with Rotate (yes it's still not completely straigth, but wanted to maintain some things in the frame)
* Crop
* Levels
* Shadow/Highlight
* Brightness -1
* Contrast +7
* Bit more saturation
* USM 71%, 0,3px, 1 lvl
* Border + 'Save for web' to maintain as much detail as possible!

Hope you like it!
Feedback welcome!
