Photographer's Note

The Fortezza is the citadel of the city of Rethymno in Crete, Greece. It was built by the Venetians in the 16th century, and was captured by the Ottomans in 1646. onstruction began on 13 September 1573, and it was complete by 1580. The fortress was built under the master builder Giannis Skordilis, and a total of 107,142 Cretans and 40,205 animals took part in its construction.By the early 20th century, many houses were built within the citadel. These were demolished after World War II, leaving only a few historic buildings within the Fortezza. Today, the citadel is in good condition and is open to the public.

The two palm trees in the foreground are sending my eyes toeward the citadel which is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the citadel. It is clear and precise. Have a nice day.

This series from Rethymno make me sorry that we just drove straight through the town on the way from Hania to catch a ferry. A well composed photo looking up the hill between the 2 palm trees.

An interesting building in a well composed photo. The palms are well used to frame the view, and two paths lead us diagonally up the hill. The light is well handled and the colours are clear and bright.

You have been able to create a very good composition by including the dirt path between the two trees, making the guide line irresistible to viewers!
The fort, with visible dome, makes a fine b/g focal point.

Hello Piotr,
A good view of the old building in the middle on top of the hill. The dome stands out well from the blue sky. The two palm trees add a nice frame in the foreground.

Magnificent composition with the perspective of this gentle hill, with the palm trees and that square construction with a large dome at the top, which I suppose is the mosque.

Ta kopula przypomina mi nieco meczet z Chanii. Fajnie obramowales widok palmami po obu stronach drogi.
Wyglada na to ze calkiem sporo jest w Rethymno i jego okolicach do zobaczenia.
POstaram sie zapamietac choc teraz kusi mnie wschodnia strona wyspy,

A number of trees can be found on the site of the citadel, but we can see that the ground is very dry.
Also these smaller trees cannot provide much shade to the visitors.
Good view of the mosque with its remarkable dome.
