Photographer's Note

Sfakia is widely considered as the most "wild" and historically rebellious region of Crete. It is situated in the western/southern part of the island, in a region mostly full of rock and mountains. Some of the most well known rebels of Crete, of the 18th and 19th century, were born here. Nowadays the place is still considered as isolated and more "original" than other cretan regions. The road that gets you there is the one in the photo, full of curves, dangerous but charming.
