Photographer's Note

Chania (Hania in Greek, the 'c' is silent) is on the north west coast of Crete. The horseshoe shaped harbour has an attractive pedestrian esplanade curving right around to the old Ottoman mosque way over on the right (not visible here). It's an old Venetian port invaded by the Ottomans in 1645, who ruled Crete until 1878.
