Photographer's Note

Too often I hear comments from hardcore travelers/photographers that they would be so bored at the beach and they admit they have more fun walking around dirty streets and photographing poor people. I suppose it is the matter of taste. I think it depends how you spend the time at the beach. While on Crete, I made a one day trip to Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa Island, many people spent it just sunbathing, but the place was so very photogenic that I didn't have even a brief moment to sit down, I walked with my camera from one amazing viewpoint to another, and I still have a feeling I have missed many opportunities there. This picture shows a beach on the Gramvousa Island, northwest of the Cretan coast.
