LIVADEIA - 116 km from Athens

Livadia 116 km away from Athens, and if you think there would be no particular reason to visit, beyond chops and relatives, maybe you should think again. In the northern part of town are the sources of Kria, as told by sources Herceena river which crosses the city, and it is a landscape of great beauty. Abundant water, lush vegetation, stone bridges from the Ottoman era, some old buildings, terraces and canals make you forget where you are. Furthermore, according to Pausanias, here are the sources of Lethe and Mnemosyne.

The region is leaving the gorge at the bottom of which there torrent, a small artificial lake and a stone theater high aesthetic and acoustic hosting cultural events in the city. From there, stand 700 steps out onto the Church of Jerusalem built on the rocks. There is a climbing park equipped with 15 tracks, dianoigmenes along paved road length of 500 m.
