Photographer's Note

Sixth post from the area of Mesolonghi. This is Tourlida a small settlement 5 km to the south of the "Sacred" town, right where the lagoon meets the sea. It is quite a swampy area (I guess if you remove that Greek Orthodox church, it could look sort of like the Missisipi Delta) with some wooden stilt houses that stand above water. It has a nice sandy beach and some excellent fish taverns. It has become somekind of summer resort for the people of Mesolonghi.Tourlida was an island until 1885, when a road connected the village with the town of Mesolonghi.

In WS 1 you can see a satelite view of all the lagoons of the area.

In WS 2 a satellite view of Tourlida.

Both satelite view taken from GOOGLE EARTH
