Photographer's Note

The Parthenon is the most famous building located on the Acropolis. Construction began in 447 BC and the sculptures were completed in 432BC. The architects were Iktinos and Kallikrates. The Parthenon was dedicated to the goddess Athena and a monumental sculpture made of gold and ivory stood within the temple of her. UNESCO World Heritage Site.
