The apse …one way of construct….one of the characteristics of this way of build is how lead the light around of them….in this photo with the three colors … the grey the brown and the white…the only thing it is common is the light…. in fact the mirror of the light……in this old Monastery in Hydra island

this is a very beautiful view with arches from three different angles, good light. Maybe just the open door is a little disturbing, anyway, very well done!

Hello Nicephorus, a lovely composition with the strong shape of the arches contrasting with the straight lines of the stairs etc.,
The small range of colours makes this shot stand out, well done.

Here you have had a very difficult light for taking a photo! Nevertheless the picture is perfect in each respect. This seems to be a place where one can "restructure" one's thoughts.
You picture transmits this atmosphere very well. A beautiful calm place.

Γειά σου Νικηφόρε,
Πάρα πολύ καλή φωτογραφία, παρμένη από ένα πολύ καλο σημείο λήψης. Η καμάρα δημιουργεί κάδρο μέσα στο κάδρο και δίνει στην η είκονα το βάθος που χρειάζεται για να αποκτήει την τρίτη διάσταση. Πολύ καλή δουλειά.

μου αρέσει αυτό το λιτό αλλά συγχρόνως όμορφο εψωτερικό του Μοναστηριού αυτού της Ύδρας με το γκρι το καφέ ακι το ασπρο που γράφεις και στο σημείωμά σου που κυριαρχούν σε όλανομίζω τα νησιά Μου αρέσει επίσης και η γωνία λήψης.

Nice capture of the blinding sun noon light, as I bet, it's supposed to have been taken at noon or somewhere there.
A nice display of the construction details-stone and wood.
Is it a monument of somebody's tomb there or it's a benefactor's bas-relief carved in the stone on this stella ?
I assume, these walls have known a lot of secrets for ages.

Hi Nicephorus. A very interesting composition, quite well exposed in difficult conditions with the sun blazing on to those tiles in the courtyard. I like the pattern of arches, the colours, and the open door - it adds a human touch and makes one think of who has just passed through it out of the frame. Nice shot.
