Photographer's Note
A few weeks ago I was in Turkey and Greece for vacation and I managed to visit some touristic locations in Athens while visiting a friend of mine who lives there.
I will be posting more images from Greece but this is the first one I started to work and finished my post-processing so i would like to share it with you.
When I went up the hill to Acropolis it was nearly sunset and spent quite a while trying to get some nice images of this famous location which has been the represantation of the political and cultural achivements of Greece.
I aimed to the capture the blue of the sky and the rays of sun with a classic composition of the Parthenon but I was not happy about the original version hence used some PS help to reveal what i was after. Please feel free to comment and critique.
On seperate historical note; the cella -as i learned- is the inner room of the temple and in the case of Parthenon there 2 of them, this image has the walls of east cella which used to have a statue of Athena, patron goddess of Athens.

Wonderful picture; the setting sun light brings out a warm color from the marbles, well contrasted against the bright blue sky. Nice colors and composition.
