Photographer's Note

It seems like every city in the region of Stuttgart(Baden-Württemberg) is buit on the Neckar. For example, you can find famous cities like Stuttgart, Tubingen, Fellbach, Mannhein(where it joins the Rhine). Esslingen am Neckar is another one sitting on this river.

Esslingen is a rather old city(for us North americans:D) as it was first mentionned toward the end of the 8th century. If you go there, you'll find plenty of interesting sights. The market square is beautiful with typical german houses(you know, all made of woods that cross the walls;a bit like the one I show here), river passes through the city, beautiful vineyards, museums, nice science university and the Burg(castle), which is more of a fortification than a castle. If you're lucky like me, you'll see egrets fishing just in front of your eyes, just after you got yourself a good döner on main street.

As usual, I provide the lat and long so you can see exactly where I was to take this one. You can see that I was actually climbing up the numerous stairs to go back up to the Burg. I was a bit tired of those stairs and I looked back to see that...I did not miss my chance:D So, behing me is the Burg(right on the map), in front are the vines that you see on the left on the map and the Neckar is somewhere on your left). It was taken from those stairs

I love looking at this picture as it gives me a peaceful feeling. I like the light on the vines in the background too.

This one is for my buddy André(Inasiajones) who told me about this region...:D I'm glad I went!!:D

Have a nice day,
