Sony Center Evening Colours
Our second visit to theSony Center took place in the evening so that we could take full advantage of the effects of the lightning concept for the roof construction designed by the Parisian light artist Yann Kersalé.
In its concept, the transparent structure of the roof serves as a projection plane for the changing light. The colors change from cyan to magenta to reflect the sunset.
When it gets dark, the lights on the cental square (the Forum) turn on and the roof changes color all the time. A sequence of this fluid color play lasts about 21 seconds and is repeated late into the night without interruption.
The ever-changing colours of the roof construction are absorbed by the reflective surfaces of the buildings.

In the three photos of this presentation we look out from the center of the forum through the opening on the side of the Potsdammer Platz.
We then see the Bahntower, a 103 meter high skyscraper, also designed by Helmut Jahn.

In the forum there is a round ripple-less pond which I gratefully used for these pictures.
Photo 1 shows the Bahntower and its reflection. On the right side of the photo we see one of the shiny buildings of the Sony Center.
Photo 2 shows the reflection of the tower in the now changed margenta light of dome. It is also nice to tilt this photo 180°.
Photo 3 shows how the Bahntower looms in the entrance/exit of the forum on the side of the Potsdammer Platz.
