Photographer's Note

At the urging of Sergiom I will replace my last post by a version showing the ferry complete and renouncing any train. To be honest: the objective of the mentioned photo was (disguised) train photography :-)

In this version you can see a little more from Linz / Rhine:
To the left, the white Linz brewery (a restaurant with a nice view across stream and Eifel hills), followed by Linz Castle, a customs castle built 1365 by the archbishop and prince-elector of Cologne inside the town - not a church as Emka and Sergiom supposed. The perspective camouflages the historic centre which can be found behind the town gate on the right.

On hearing "Linz", most foreigners and Germans will think of Linz / Danube, which after Vienna and Graz is no. 3 in Austria. But there is an unequal town twinning - Linz(Germany) has 6200 people while Linz(Austria) has 200.000 more...
