After a photo from English Christmas Market, another photo with people, quite a rarity in my predominantly postcard-like gallery.
I have showed here one photo taken on this day already. The blond lady walking with her friends made me think it could be Angela...
This archival photo was taken in 2006. From 9 June to 9 July 2006 Germany hosted the FIFA World Cup. I remember I took this photo after a German victory. Judged by the date of the photo (30 June 2006) this must have been after the game with Argentina. It was won by Germany hence the joy. Unfortunately, the German team has lost the next game with Italy but still ended up on the third place which is quite high.
I have no interest in football at all, but people were so enthusiastic partying all over the town that I grabbed my camera and took some photos.
The partially bright background was due to the evening sunlight on some parts of the buildings.
To see how Italians have celebrated after winning the World Cup few days later have a look at THIS PHOTO by Luciano.

Hello Mariusz,
A photo from the early days of Merkel's chancellorship, a more than thirteen year old picture, it's remarkable how long she's been in office. She looks a bit lost among the football fans, though and not really celebrating the Germany win, maybe she was already worrying about the next opponent. Good capture, I like seeing Lübeck in the background as well.

Hello Mariusz,
I smiled at the thought of Angela leading a victorious, football crowd!
It is surprising how excited fans become about their teams!
I remember being in Spain when they won the European Cup and cars were hooting, fans were singing and there was such an air of jollity in the city.
You have captured this sort of mood, particularly with the figure, arms extended, carrying a flag.
The whole scene is really well co-ordinated with the national colours of Germany.
You have cropped the scene well, so that all the focus is on the fans.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Mariusz,
Of course the photo quality is super, but I see angry faces... except for one guy on left. Maybe football fans are no happy crowd's.
Nice find in your archives.
Good evening,
Ike

I liked to watch brazilian team in the world cups until 1982, when the best brazilian team of ever was defeated by a worst team (the italy), after that deception I never paid so deep attention to the games as I did in my youth. germany wasn't the winner in their home, but they won in my home, humiliating our team. nice flagrant of this moment of joy.
take care

Mariusz, you captured well the German supporters expressing their joy in a street of Lubeck after their national team victory. They brandish the German flag and one man wears a hat with the national colors. Good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Mariusz,
It is a nice, colorful street shot. However, the light was harsh on the buildings in the background. 👌👌

Hello Mariusz
This group reminds me of a party of German football fans that I photographed in Washington. Even then it was about football fans. Even then they beat Argentina but were "Weltmeister" this time. The Dutch team then became third.
Excellent presentation
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hello Mariusz,
The national black, red, and yellow colours are predominant here. Like you, I am not overly fond of football and rugby but must confess I do like to watch grand finals sometimes, just that I am not so interested in quarter finals and the like. Tfs!
