Photographer's Note

Across the river Elbe, southwest from Hamburg you can find the Altes Land (From German: old land). It is one of the largest fruit-producing regions in Europe. Its main products are apples and cherries. On the first Sunday of May there is a great celebration in the village of Jork (pronounced like York): “Altländer Blütenfest” (Altes Land Blossom Festival). I had the pleasure to be there for the parade which is the highlight of the celebration. In addition to New York and York in Yorkshire, Jork is the third york which I had a chance to visit.
