Photographer's Note

Hello friends and colleagues, today I offer you this beautiful view on the village of Schwangau with a beautiful lake in the background, taken from the famous castle of Neuschwanstein in Bavaria, I hope you like, then some letters about the town.

Schwangau is a municipality in the district of Ostallgäu in Bavaria, Germany. The village is 4 kilometers from the city of Füssen and only 1.5 kilometers from Hohenschwangau, a tourist center oriented towards its biggest attraction the Neuschwanstein Castle and the Hohenschwangau Castle.

Schwangau does not have a train station, but it is possible to get there by bus in connection with Fussen, Hohenschwangau, and others near the Alpine towns. It is the penultimate town in the Romantic tour that ends in Fussen.

The Swangowe castrum dates from 1090. It was located in the place of Neuschwanstein Castle and its property was in charge of the house of Elder House of Welf. After the death of Welf VI in 1191, it fell into the hands of the Staufer dynasty and in 1268 of the Empire. The modern shield is based on the one shown in the Codex Manesse.

In the United States, there are currently people who carry the surname Swango, presumably the descendant name of Swangowe, a genetic derivation originating in a family in northern Italy, called Paumgarten or Baumgarten, who bought the right to use that name from the State of Bavaria after the death of Schwangau's Hiltbolt.
