Photographer's Note

Since I show this photo in B&W probably not so many of you will like it.

This is a heavily cropped picture, showing only a third of the original photo. To me this part was the most interesting, and I thought it would fit the atmosphere of a cloudy day to convert it to B&W.

The photo shows the bridge connecting two buildings of the German Parliament on each side of the Speer river, one in former West Berlin, the other on the east side of the city.

Seeing the persons standing high up on the footbridge I was reminded of the Wim Wenders' 1987 movie "Der Himmel über Berlin" (meaning The sky above Berlin, although the movie's English title was actually "Wings of Desire"). It is about two angels keeping an eye on the people of Berlin, saving them from accidents, trying to make their lives better, etc.

Here is a larger version.

In a workshop I will show another third of the original photo, a second workshop shows the entire picture.
