Some days ago I already showed you a photo taken in a basalt quarry. Today I show you an about 300 meters long wall out of basalt there.

This quarry near the small town Beilstein still is in operation and one feels like an ant when visiting it. I have been there on a frosty Sunday when the soil luckily was frozen and the big bulldozers and trucks had a rest (on working days you aren't allowed to visit it). So besides the trees on top of the wall there's unfortunately hardly a scale in order to show the magnificence of this natural wonder.
Especially in the large version you can see all the wonderful structures and columns.
In the workshop you can see some special basalt columns and a photo with my car as a scale.

Using the map view function left hand you can zoom into this huge hole ...
