Photographer's Note

First indications of a reconstruction, visible in three items:

A new track bed is under construction at Heimersheim railway station. They hope to be able to resume train traffic on a shorter part of Ahr line from Remagen to Walporzheim before Christmas. West of Walporzheim: vacuum!

A new high pressure gas pipeline has to be built as the gas supply system had become a mess. The good news is that not only the southern parts of Bad Neuenahr, but also some of its northern parts will have natural gas in November 21 and not in March 22, so heating and DRYING of the buildings will be possible again.

There is street traffic on B 266 (right corner) as two of the four lanes could be reopened, so the road and bridge situation in the lower Ahr valley has almost returned to its normal state.

Which does not apply upstream where several Bailey bridges are under construction and some army tank-laying bridges are still in use...

For comparison see "Flood ... 13"
