Couleurs d'automne 03: Cochem I, a photo from Rheinland-Pfalz, West

Photographer's Note

Cochem is located on the German Moselle, between Trier and Koblenz.

Cochem Castle, situated on an outstanding hill, 100 metres above the river Moselle, is a popular tourist attraction.
It was mentioned first in a document in 1051 when Richeza, count Palatine Ezzo's oldest daughter and former Queen of Poland, gave the castle to her nephew count palatine Henry I.
It was, with the city, destroyed in March 1689 by French troupes.
In 1868, a Berlin businessman, Mr. Louis Ravené, bougth the castle lands and the ruins.
He rebuild the castle incorporating the remains of the late Gothic buildings into the main castle structure.
The entire structure was rebuilt in the then popular Neo-Gothic architectural style, corresponding to the romantic ideals in vogue in Germany in the 19th century.
Today the castle is still well-equipped with Renaissance and Baroque furniture, which was carefully collected by the Ravené family.
Since 1978 the castle has been owned by the town of Cochem.

Waouh joliii le chateau, j'aime bioen la contreplongee et le decentrement qui permettent une bonne progression logique dans la lecture de la photo, veentuellement reduire un poil la luminosite ?

bel edifice qui pointe au dessus de cette foret.
la composition est tres equilibrée. une lumiere delicate mais tu t'en sors tres bien.

Superbe chateau dont on perçoit bien le site d'implantation.
La photo est bien cadrée avec une belle lumière.
On dirait qu'il y a une "affiche" sur la tour...c'est une fresque ?

Juste un fantastique chateau et un coin il semble bon vivre. Surtout qu'on y fait de bons petits vins sympas...

Hi Didier, nice POV, I love how this castle peeks out of the trees to stab at the sky with its many spires. The only thing that bothers me is the small edge of an object in the bottom right corner.
