Photographer's Note

In the most romantic part of the Moselle Valley, where the river curves between two hiking paradises - Eifel and Hunsrück - lies the old town of Cochem.
Even the Romans sang the praises of this remarkable landscape.
The magnificent Reichsburg, the big castle, situated on a precipitous rock high above the town, dominates the landscape. The many delicate pointed towers, battlements and oriels give the impression of a typical fairy tale castle, particularly as it is one of the few castles in Germany, which was rebuilt in its original style after its complete destruction.
As impressive as the castle itself is the view of the Moselle Valley with its beautiful forests, meadows, fields and vineyards, as well as the old part of the town. (www.Cochem.de)

Hallo Dimitris,

habe gerade vorgestern Abend im Fernsehen einen Bericht (Fahr mal Hin.. im SWR) über diese Strecke zwischen Bernkastel-Kues und Cochem anschauen können, wirklich ein tolle Location, da muß ich demnächst mal hin..
ein sehr schönes Porträt der Stadt und der ausgezeichneten Lage drumherum, gefällt mir sehr..

This is a fantastic shot! Your composition is outstanding with the perfect placement of the castle with the valley and river extending out from it. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The vineyards and valley provide a nice backdrop for the scene. I visited Cochem last summer but did not find this wonderful view of the castle and town.

Bonjour Dimitris,
un endroit évidemment bien connu pour ses édifices et chateau notamment. Et c'est bien de nous en donner une vue en altitude pour bien montrer son implantation le long du fleuve.
J'ai pu par exemple, phototgraphier Monschau de la même manière.
C'est net et très précis.

Δημήτρη, εχω πάνω απο 6 χρόνια να επισκεφθω την Γερμανία αλλά πρίν ταξίδευα κάθε χρόνο και πάντα θυμάμαι μαγευτικά και παραμυθένια τοπία οπως αυτο της φωτογραφίας σου, πάντα προσεγμένα και φροντισμένα σε κάθε τους λεπτομέρεια και με μια φανταστική και άψογη φυσική ομορφιά..δεν λείπει τίποτα απο τήν εικόνα σου και το σημείο λήψης αξίζει συγχαρητήρια εκτός των άλλων φυσικά
χάρηκα πού σε "ειδα" πάλι...
