Photographer's Note
Christmas time in Duisburg, Germany! This is the "Ice tree" on the Koenig-Heinrich Platz. During the Advent time Duisburg, like many other cities in Germany, is a wonderful place to be. It's the time of the traditional yearly Christmas Market, and the town lights up with millions of festive and colorful christmas lights and decorations. Taking a stroll in the evening through the center of town is like taking a stroll in a beautiful fairy tale world.
The Ice Tree is made up of thousands of little white lights, and reminds one of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale "Snow Queen".
Wishing everybody on TE a wonderful Christmas time.

Hi Michael,
i've seen many photos of lonesome trees but none of them was like this one.
Completely different notion to go with this photo. I wish that in my country would be so creative to shape a whole tree with lights (although I'm not a fan of christmas decoration) since it looks much more interesting and enjoyable.
Thanks for sharing and wonderful Christmas time to you too :)
My best,
Jeri
