The low tide on the North Sea beach in Cuxhaven.
Short time after reaching the high tide, the water retreats to expose the sea floor for some hundreds of meters, known as tidal flats or mudflats. A lot of people use this for a walk in places where the water would have reached your neck half an hour eralier.
