Photographer's Note

Limburg Cathedral, situated on a chalk cliff high above Lahn river and thus visible from all sides and from far distance, counts among the masterpieces of late Romanesque style in Germany, but also includes early Gothic elements.
Inauguration was in 1235. St. George Cathedral is relatively small, only 54,5 m long and 35,4 m wide, but with a central spire of 66 m, topping the western twin towers of 37 m.
To the right, the Alte Vikarie, freshly renovated as a part of the local bishop's residence. The catholic bishop has strongly been criticized for an excessive rise in the construction and renovation costs from 2.500.000 € to an incredible 31.000.000 €.
