Two Towers for Mariusz
Alternative title: Spot the Differences

This view may look familiar to you, it certainly was to me when I saw it during my visit to Hamburg and the reason for this was that Mariusz posted this photo no so long ago. I took a few photos and as I couldn’t exactly remember the composition of Mariusz’s photo, I was curious to see how different or similar our photos would turn out to be.

I took this photo at the central square Rathausmarkt located in Hamburg-Altstadt (Old Town). The photo offers a view down Schleusenbrücke and Poststraße. The buildings on the right hand side belong to the Alsterarkaden. The first tower is part of the Alte Post building, completed in 1847 after the Great Fire of Hamburg, five years earlier. The other one is the Heinrich-Hertz-Turm, a 279-metre tall radio telecommunication tower, built between 1965-68.
