Photographer's Note

This is a portion of the Olympiastadion terrace. This stadium was designed by the German architect Günther Benisch and was built between 1969 and 1971 for the 1972 Summer Olympics. It has a capacity of 80000 and hosted the World Cup final in 1974 (Germany vs Holland) and the European Championship final in 1988 (Holland vs USSR). During the years the capacity was reduced to the current 69000. For the 2006 World Cup the city of Munich decided to build another stadium, the Allianz Arena, that ousted the Olympiastadion. Anyway this installation still remains a myth for sports and football in particular.
