Photographer's Note

Hello friends and colleagues, today I present another view of this beautiful and interesting Bavarian city of the romantic route, I hope you like, then some letters about the city.

Dinkelsbühl is a historic city in the center of Franconia, a region of Germany that is now part of the state of Bavaria, in southern Germany. Dinkelsbühl is an ancient free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire. In terms of local government, Dinkelsbühl is located near the western edge of the Landkreis (or local government district) of the Ansbach district, north of Aalen.

Dinkelsbühl is located in the northern part of the Romantic Road, and is one of the three most striking historical cities in the northern part of the route, the others are Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Nördlingen.

The city is located at the southern tip of Franconian Heights and on the Wörnitz River, which rises in the town of Schillingsfürst

Fortified by Emperor Henry V, in 1305 Dinkelsbühl received the same municipal rights as Ulm, and in 1351 he was elevated to the position of Free Imperial City. Its municipal code, the Dinkelsbühler Recht, published in 1536 and revised in 1738, contained a very wide collection of public and private laws.

During the Protestant Reformation, Dinkelsbühl stood out for being - eventually together with Ravensburg, Augsburg and Biberach an der Riß - a Bi-confessional (ie, approximately the same number of Catholics and Protestant citizens, with the same rights) Imperial City (in German: Paritätische) Reichsstadt) where the Peace of Westphalia prompted the establishment of a Catholic-Protestant governmental and administrative system, with offices of equality (German: Gleichberechtigung) and an accurate and egalitarian distribution between Catholic and Protestant civil servants. This state ended in 1802, when these cities were annexed by the Kingdom of Bavaria.
Around 1534 the majority of the population of Dinkelsbühl became Protestant.
