Photographer's Note
DIE KUNSTHALLE in Mannheim is one of the many great art museums in Germany. It focusses on classics from the 19th and 20th century and regularly has contemporary art on show too.
THIS PICTURE was shot on the first floor. The swinging clock is part of an installation by Alicja Kwade called "Die bewegte Leeren des Moments", which translates as....
THE MOVING EMPTINESS OF THE MOMENT
The clock and the rock are in a constant swinging motion.

Yesterday’s the past,
tomorrow’s the future,
but today is a gift.
That’s why it’s called
the present.

Hello Benny,
I would probably not have noticed that the clock is an installation unless you had mentioned it. But I immediately noticed the clean lines of the building and the soft light. A number of geometrical figures could be detected here.

Gert

Hallo Benny,

Goed foto werk, bedankt.
Prettige avond verder,
John.

I love the way you create images and connect them to quotes. I found this one very profound, something that has been constantly on my mind for awhile. We very often use our present to moan about the past and fret about the future. Just to discover we have wasted it an it's now too late.
Thanks for this!

Hello dear friend and have a nice day
the main characteristic here...
are the simple architectural details...
and the notice...the clock and the rock
are in constant swinging motion...

Dag Benny,
Groet Rob
