Photographer's Note

Hobby photographers like to imitate the pros. But at certain events it can be very difficult to get close enough to even try. You need special passes, credentials and the right gear. And that is execatly what we don't have. So we push to get as close as possible, hold the camera high above the head and shoot blindly in the direction of the action. The results are therefore mostly not worth the mention.
This is one strictly for those who nevertheless feel the fascination of 10.000 horsepower close up (that is the equivalent of approximately 70 street cars) - even after they have cut the engines. Taken in the paddock of the Hockenheim Ring after the German Grand Prix of the 2004 F1 season.
