Dresden Castle II

This is my second picture of Dresden Castle, I posted the first one ( on the day of our visit. For many centuries, Dresden was the residence of the Prince-Electors (Kurfürsten) and Kings of Saxony, who lived in the building you see here, the Dresdner Residenzschloss. It is known for its mix of architectural styles, including Baroque and Neo-renaissance. The castle was heavily damaged in the bombing of Dresden by Allied forces in 1945. The renovation is still ongoing, after it was mostly left as a ruin in the first decades after the war.
