Photographer's Note

The Frauenkirche church was destroyed by Allied bombing during World War II and rebuilt as a symbol of reconciliation between enemies of war. The reconstruction of its exterior was completed in August 2004 and the interior in 2005, after 13 years of work.

The original church, in Baroque style, was built between the years 1726 and 1743, designed by Dresden architect Georg Bähr (1666-1738), one of the greatest German Baroque masters.
