Reflections in Rostock

The building you can see here reflected in a glass façade is the same as I showed in the WS to this picture: https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Germany/photo1587359.htm. It is also found in Lange Straße, an important east-west thoroughfare in central Rostock. It was built after the street was left in ruins in WW2. In the early 1950s, the Eastern German authorities wanted to rebuild the street in a way that would reflect Rostock’s status as the GDR’s most important port and symbolise the new socialist Rostock. It resulted in a mix of buildings built in Socialist Classicism (also called Stalinist architecture) and Brick Gothic architecture, influenced by the medieval parts of the city.

Hej Lars,
Jag känner igen byggnaden, men den ser ganska annorlunda ut här. ;-) Med sådan utsikt borde detta vara ett bra ställe att äta eller dricka något. Jag undrar hur den "riktiga" byggnaden här ser ut på lite avstånd. Trevlig bild, och du missar sällan ett tillfälle att hitta fina spegelbilder.

Hello Lars, an excellent reflection, I would be thrilled if I saw this for real!! You have done a great job of capturing it.
I like the inclusion of the tables and chairs on the pavement, especially with their check cloths.
Can we see just a tiny part of you in the reflection?

Samen met jou vader vormt jullie een zeer goed team.
Ik was op zoek naar de fotograaf maar ik vind hem niet onmiddellijk.
Beeld is mooi genomen jan corona maakt veel straten leeg ook in Vlaanderen.
Maar kan voor een fotograaf voordelen hebben.
Samenstelling en presentatie is heel mooi gedaan.

Lars, an outdoor terrace is installed at the foot of that glass facade. The brown building is reflected in the one located in front of it. It comprises numerous windows and a series of rosaces. Nice architectural details. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Ja, ik herken het gebouw van je WS bij een vorige foto.
Grappig maar sommige lampen in het gebouw lijken kerstballen in de weerspiegelde boom in het midden :)
Het mooie zomerweer liet je een zeer geslaagde foto met weerspiegelingen nemen.

My favourite Brick Gothic architecture building reflections. You were lucky to have such a clear blue sky with the title theme. I can see 'father and son' competing with each other , who has the best reflections. You wouldn't want to know who will I think :-)
Are the table reserved for you? Very nice chairs and table cloths. Complement to this picture very well as f/g.

This really is a fantastic reflection!
It makes a superb b/g for the neatly set tables, all ready for some alfresco dining! It is hard to believe that the building isn't actually there! But, I think I can make out the photographer who is creating this illusion!
It's a really well composed na very nicely saturated photograph!

HI Lars,
great use of this reflection, the weather helped to make the reflected scene so vivid. The combination of the repeated pattern of windows goes well with repeated pattern of the reflected building.
The tables with chairs add a reality check.
Very well spotted and with a great note on the Rostock architecture,

The total reflection of this building in the large windows is magnificent, the tables set for lunch, I suppose, are a fantastic contrast.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and the magnificent composition; they are all perfectly realized factors, in this precious image.

Een schitterende spiegeling waarbij het lijnenspel van de spiegelgevel een mooi, bijna perfect raster vormt voor de weerspiegelde architectuur.
Het was even zoeken naar de fotograaf maar zag toen dat ik dezelfde foto moet hebben in mijn eigen archief.
