This is the Dutch Quarter in Potsdam, erected 1733 - 1742 by Frederick William I of Prussia, the "Soldier King". The quarter expressed the king's love for the Netherlands as well as his wish to gain profit from dutch know-how. It is the biggest settlement in dutch style outside the Netherlands.
