Photographer's Note
You may not like this, you may even find it ridiculous, but after processing, step by step, the original photo, I suddenly realized I had created something I really liked. This is one of my personal favourites in recent months. I hope it's minimalistic enough for those of you who have disagreed with some of my earlier photos in this series.
It shows small parts of the walls of two adjacent houses in the eastern part of Berlin. I think they were placed at an angle to each other, thus the different light.
Please note that these are the original colours. It's not converted to B&W.
I will show the original photo in the WS. You will also see what it looked like after the first stage of processing, before I decided to do something radical.
I would not have been surprised to find a painting looking like this in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, or maybe Tate Modern in London.
Don't forget to see the workshops.

Hej Gert
Effective tight framing that focuses on tonal variations with minimalist colour and composition. Good sharpness and textural contrasts. Tfs!

Hi Gert,
It is realy minimalistic. The point of view is showing the details of the design of each wall. THere is a good contrast between the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

I liked this very minimalist image, looks in fact some modern paintings I saw somewhere. I liked a lot the chimneys, I would use them in a minimalist photo. I liked those poles in the lower part too.
take care

Hello Gert
A beautiful shot of a wall with a contrast of white and gray. An attractive minimalism. Exposure is well done. I'm glad you came to this conclusion by cutting to a more attractive view. Thanks for sharing

Hej Gert,
Det kunne meget godt have været et kunstværk i et modern museum. Jeg kan meget godt lide kontrasten mellem den hvide, solbelyste og den grå sode. Jeg først tænkte at du tog billedet ved Holocaustmindesmærket.

Hello Gert, your notes are useful whilst viewing this VERY minimal picture.
I agree, you might see something very similar in some of the major art galleries of the world. I am reminded of Mark Rothko, but this is even more minimal than his work.
An interesting experiment.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Gert,I could not forget to watch the WS, also because this time they are essential to understand the main photo, for me it is a genius, the maximum of minimalism, an idea that would appeal to many modern artists of our times, well done from Berlin! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Gert, I appreciate you saw potential in these walls and the drastic changes made it much more interesting. On the other hand, for me, it is too minimal as for TE. I prefer to see something more. probably one could see such a piece of art in a modern art gallery, I have seen many strange paintings, sometimes with famous names. But I am not fun of them either.
Best regards Malgo

Hello Gert,
Yes, this is a minimalist photo.
Seeing the thumbnail and reading Berlin as the location, I thought you took this photo at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. But not.
You have to have a special eye to see something interesting in that minimalism.
But I understand there was little point in taking one of the two pictures in the WS as the main photo.
What's the opposite of a minimalistic photo?
Best regards, Paul

Hi Gert
You can't get more minimalist than this one. Good to see the WS photos and the progress of your thoughts. And yes it is a bit in the style of some well known paintings.
cheers

Hello Gert,
It is minimalist and abstract. I wonder how inclusion of a third color, like the sky, would result.

Dear Gert,
It is as simple as it can be and I really like it. Its a kind of modern day art - which happens to obey the rule of thirds
- and I understand why you appreciate it so much!
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hi Gert
I love this. This is my favourite of your minimalist series so far and goes straight to my fav theme (I can't add any more images to my "proper" Favourites or so I've been told). Looking at the two WS images I admire your ability to look beyond the original version and come up with this eye-catching crop.
As soon as I saw this it made me wonder if it had been converted to b&w so thanks for mentioning it wasn't (you can't always trust TE photo info).
Best wishes
Kasia

I guess this must be where the minimalist series reaches its zenith and turning point. But, yes, I do like this one!

Hello Gert,
You're full of surprises ... your mind is 'simplifying'.
The ability of creating something so dull into something so flawless.
It's a 'Bare & Blank' shot ... to give our mind flowing with pure 'nothingless'. That's how my mind is now.
The WS are very useful to see the processing ... the drastic changes you've made radically :-)
Tfs,
Loong
