Photographer's Note
A wall painting of the boy king Pharoah, Tutankhamen, with his queen Ankhesenamun, actually his half sister, from the marriage of Akhenaton and Nefertiti. I would have taken a shot of the famous Nefertiti bust too, if photography was not verboten! German archeologists brought back many ancient Egyptian relics to Berlin. This one dates from around 1335 BC & is often called "A walk in the garden".
King Tut supports himself with a stick. "One detail, in particular, deserves special attention: the king supports himself on a stick which is wedged under his armpit, like a crutch, and puts all his body weight on one leg while the other touches the ground weakly with the tip of the toe. Clearly, this represents someone with a medical condition. It can be connected to representations of Tutankhamun from his tomb; the results of computed tomography of his mummy indicate that the young king had a leg ailment."

Hello Chris,
It's a stunningly beautiful and well kept painting, and you captured it with perfect sharpness and light. But Cairo would have been a more natural home than Berlin.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Chris,
Le cadrage serré met l'oeuvre d'art en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la peinture. La lumière met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris, looking at this sharp shot I get an excellent impression of the relief of the piece, with all the indentations that were made to create the picture.
It is in excellent condition.
The colours are well preserved. I like it a lot. Interesting notes.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Chris,
Very colorful scene. Comparing with your previous photo it made me think that it is just ancient graffiti, ha ha
Who knows maybe years from now people will try to decipher our graffities thinking that they are hiding a present day wisdom.
They will be so disappointed.
Very well done, and again a location is Germany but you show an Egyptian artifact.

Hello Chris,
When I was in Berlin in 1980, it was an exhibition of the Tutankhamon treasures in the Dahlem Museum, it was then West Berlin. There were long queues to see it. Later, when I was in Cairo, I was with the group and because of Friday, the museum was soon closed and I was in a hurry. How I was angry! I saw also the Nefertiti bust. I have seen recently so many paintings and reliefs. Well preserved colours. An interesting note about his leg. It seems, that as in some other paintings and reliefs, King Tut has two left hands. As I read, it was quite a common presentation.
Best regards MAlgo
PS. Have you seen my New Luxor photo? Was this Nile promenade like this when you were there?

Hello Chris,
I saw a documentary on the examination of Tut's mummy and they definitely found a problem with one of his feet/legs. This remarkable wall painting confirms what what true. What an excellent painting, very well captured by your camera. We can tell that the outline appears to have been impressed.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
So a secretly taken photo.
I read about the leg ailment found on his mummy but didn't know it was shown in paintings.
The colours are well rendered.
Best regards, Paul
