Berlin is home to more than 170 museums and galleries, many of them housing the finest and most important art collections in the world.
Museum Island is the name of the northern half of an island in the Spree river in the central Mitte district of Berlin, Germany, the site of the old city of Clln. It is so called for the complex of five internationally significant museums.

The Berliner Dom is a "non-museum" situated on the museum island. Its the Cathedral of Berlin and the largest church in the city.
