Photographer's Note

The interior of the cathedral of Saint Nazaire at Beziers is in the form of a Greek cross. Its impressive measurements are as follows:

Length 50 metres
Transept 33 metres wide
Nave 14 metres wide.
Maximum height 24 metres.

Whilst the majority of the columns date from the Gothic period, there remain some vestiges from the previous Romanesque building.

The choir contains windows dating from the Gothic age. Above the choir stalls are 6 large paintings. Three of them are signed Thierry and depict scenes from the life of Moses. The other three are works of the painter Montpellier Raoux, and show scenes from the life of Constantine and his mother, Saint Helena.

Two photographs taken hand-held with ISO uprated to 800 and stitched together. Apologies for the slight distortion.
