Photographer's Note

During the Middle Ages, Corsica was covered with guard towers and Castellu (castle). At the top of a ruined old tower that I took this panorama. It is the fruit of 3 photos assembled with PTgui. You can see my city: Corti. It is situated in the centre of the island, at the crossroads of inland waterways. She was the subject of numerous struggles since ancient times. On the tables of Ptolemy, she was named Talkinon. Place strong from the 9th sc, it was conquered by the Genoese in the 13th si then by the Moors. On behalf of the King of Aragon that Vincentellu of Istria built citadel (1419). In turn, it was occupied by our occupiers: Bank of St Georges, the Genoese and french. In 1755, Pasquale di Paoli made it the capital of Corsica Independent. The constitution was passed and the University was installed.
It is also Corti you can visit the beautiful valley of Restonica.
But as you can see the forest which occupied the entire centre was destroyed by fire. The small bush took the place of oaks, chestnuts, etc.. The arsonists have made such a massacre .... that water will eventually fail in some places.
