Photographer's Note

Féria at Arles Sunday April 11, 2004.

To release cows camarguaises in the street of Arles.
Musics and environments were there only the cows did not seem not appreciated
the festival and only asked to turn over in their herd.

Nothing to see this known as with the Spanish fighting bulls and the bullfight with setting with died of the animal.
These cows are intended for the race camargaise and to butchery
only the cows go (on average two out of ten per herd) which, according
to the expression of Henri Laurent, "do not want to play or are weak
with the combat". The cow camargaise with quite precise
characteristics, as Christian Espelly details them proudly:
"Longiligne, fine head, horns raised in the shape of quadrant,
body of hyena with rear-axle unit lower than the shoulders,
black color with russet-red undercoats" Infos taken of an article of
Philippe Jerome.
