Photographer's Note

View of the "La Falaise" district in Avoriaz (French Alps)

Avoriaz is a popular destination for winter sports. The station dominates the small city of Morzine at about 1800m altitude and is located in a magnificent mountain circus. You love it or you hate it, but the truth is that the promoters of Avoriaz in the sixties had a vision.
The homogeneous modern architecture makes intensive use of Canadian ceddar and is well integrated into its natural environment.
Mobility has also been a question of concern since the very beginning and if you want to access the station, you will have to drop your car at the main parking (about a km away from your apartment) and than make use of sleighs (in winter) or vans (in summer). A mountain station without cars makes the place quite attractive for families with children.
