Photographer's Note

The photo is that of Pen Duick, one of the sailing ships of Eric Tabarly.
With Pen Duick III which is a "goélette" of 17,45m Tabarly gained a number impressing of victories (Transat en solitaire, Fastnet, Sydney-Hobart..etc.) . Eric Tabarly, most famous and more loved French sailors and sportsmen disappeared on the Ireland sea, during the night of June 12, 1998, whereas he sailed with Pen Duick, the sailing ship of his childhood! (Pen Duick wants to say head of lark in "breton") I had hesitated to post on TE this photo catch during "Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2003". But this boat is so mythical that one can consider that it forms part of the history of the navy like the legendary Eric Tabarly.
