Photographer's Note

As far as see, these are young oxes, and not cows. On this long island (5 km) separating the active arm and a dead arm of the Seine river, the owner transfers by barge every spring a cattle of oxes and cows. They remain on the island up to the first frost. There, they have the very nutritious Normandy grass, sunshine in summer, no climbing like in the Alps, enough trees to rest under when it's warm, and a natural beach for swimming. When bored, instead of trains, they can watch barges carrying Renault cars, sand, or containers. Ideal holidays, no?
I'm just wondering if a cow swims...
